Blog2016 ≫ Twenty years ago today I was at Frank Black

Black Francis, of The Pixies, doing a solo show in Portsmouth. Of course, I was always a Pixies fan, because I was cool, wasn't I? I was not, I missed out on them first time round. I had a couple of tracks on mix tapes but they did not really grab me for some reason. I was still not a fan at this point in 1996, but I did get some posters signed by him, so if I keep quiet about it I could just claim I was always cool couldn't I?

I did like the Wannadies at this time, they supported.

This was another Portsmouth Venue Campaign show, so a freebie. One of the organisers was quite excited about it being Frank Black, she was a big fan and had seen Pixies at the Guildhall previously, 1989 or so. Around the time I was at Transvision Vamp I think.
