Blog2016 ≫ Not Blue Monday but PRODUCTIVE Monday

Following all the jobs of the weekend, fixing the gate and so on, I finally got round to arranging an overpayment on my mortgage again. Not much, but Mum keeps reminding me of it. Will have it paid off just before the boys go to university now, at which point I'll have to arrange another mortgage for that.

Thinking about extending the house. Can't afford it but if we get some money in at any point (I have some .com shares that might mature in the next couple of years) then instead of trying to buy a camper van I think we'll spend it on putting another couple of metres on our kitchen.

Have been looking at holidays, thought we could afford one in Italy this year if we did eurocamp.co.uk1. But I was wrong, the little extras all mount up and it is still expensive but I think we'll find something, just probably not Italy.

Part of me would like to do a real long drive to a holiday, but part of me absolutely hates the idea. A part of me hates flying so much that it's going to have to man up and really stand its corner. What would be better, hanging around at airports kidding yourself you are moving or just knuckling down and doing a 1000 mile road trip? I can't decide. Probably better to compromise and just do a much shorter trip, find somewhere nice in Northern Europe.

Still looking.

I originally had a load of ebay links to VW Splitties for sale here, I may reinstate it at some point. Maybe embellished with other VW Split Screen van content. I have long given up on being able to afford one of these though.
