Blog2015 ≫ Lily camera looks amazing

There's a new selfie drone in town! What, you didn't know a selfie drone was a thing? Is Lily the first selfie drone then? It's a flying camera, a smart drone / [quadcopter] thing with build in camera that will follow you round and film you doing your extreme lifestyle type stuff.

Just lob it off a bridge, and go!

That's a great price, and it's waterproof and has good flying time. The most amazing bit to me is you just throw it to launch it. How confident would you be though if you had just spent $1000 on it, just chucking it off a bridge? Reminds me of that old IBM laptop advert, their laptops used an accelerometer to detect if you'd dropped them, and stopped the hard drive and tensed it self up somehow to limit damage.

Everyone at work is going crazy for it, we love drones at holidayextras.co.uk. There's a video here on theguardian.com testing it. Won't play here, does it work for you? Think I've found it on the youtube but there seem to be a lot of spam videos there too, copies of the video with suspicious estate agent spam in the descriptions. Looks like it works nicely though.
