Election result today was pretty shoddy really. I think everyone had a false impression of how it was going to turn out, based on only spending their time talking to other like-minded people. Turns out there are a lot of conservatives out there who just keep quiet about it. I guess it's a bit embarrassing to be a conservative, so they don't shout about it.

I obviously didn't expect the Greens to win, but I though it was going to be a closer call, and we might end up with a hung parliament or a complicated arrangement involving several parties. Not the blue-wash that it was.

A good thing that Farrage did not win, that's just about the only positive thing out of this whole situation. Probably good all round to see Milliband step down, he was possibly not quite PM enough. Good to see Clegg go too, you have to feel a bit sorry for him I suppose. He was the man of the hour last time around, a real hero right before the election, but as soon as the lib-dems got in bed with the conservatives they lost all respect.

Brighton kept their Green MP Caroline Lucas, good on them, and London seems to have done a lot better, these stats from @diamondgeezer:

London: LAB 44%, CON 35%, UKIP 8%, LIB DEM 8%, GREEN 5%

England outside London: LAB 30%, CON 42%, UKIP 15%, LIB DEM 8%, GREEN 4%

It was a beautiful sunny day yesterday, before. Today it's suitably grim and miserable.

A bit disappointed to be honest that my Lord Tumble mash-up hasn't made more of an impact.
