Splendid long weekend and everything so far, except for one thing...

First the good bits, started my long weekend nice and early, went straight to Chambers on Thursday as the beer festival was on. Went on my own so only intended to have a couple of pints and some chilli and then come back. Ended up staying for a good six hours... Beer was excellent, especially the Dark Star. Got talking to some people who turned out to be Ned Dylan and family, the booked entertainment for the evening. So I said I'd stay for the music, then that was later than expected, so then had a few more drinks. The music was great Ned1 is great, supremely confident for his age too I hope he goes a long way. He had Fruitbat out of off of Carter USM in his band too.

Friday we had our easter lunch round at Jim's, which Dean cooked. Nice to get everyone together like this. Friday night Clare went out as Jeff and Emma were visiting.

Saturday morning boys and I headed off to Mum and Dad's for a for a fabulous weekend. Bought new shoes for the boys, met up with Andy for a tonne of beer and a Nandos and then had another big easter family lunch with mum and dad and all. A quiet night in there watching Vera and then a good drive back this morning. Our new car is great, has not used as much fuel as the old one did for the same journey and it's a nice easy fast drive.

Now on to catgate... we're meant to be feeding someone's cat this week while they're away, only Clare went round for the first feeding and could not get in the house. She sent a passing small boy over the back wall to try and get in that way but still no joy. So far she has poked cat biscuits through the letter box to keep the little kittie going, but this afternoon I'm going round with a ladder and things, see what I can do. The cat is quite shy, doesn't really leave the house so I'm not sure it will be smart enough or bold enough to head out of the house looking for an alternative source of food and drink. We can only figure the cat owner has left their keys in the door that we have access to and gone out through another door that we don't have a key for. We don't have a key for the gate either, hence the need for the ladder. Will be a fun afternoon...
