Blog2015 ≫ Lost the signal from my satellite dish

Hmm, it's been fading in and out with the bad weather and now we've lost the signal from the satellite dish. Our dish is quite exposed, being near the sea and quite high up we get the wind and the sea spray and things tend to go rusty fast. Think this dish has only been up since we've been in here, can't quite remember, but seems like the bracket and the fittings have rusted and I can't adjust it any more. It's on the front of the house so can reach it from the balcony and that, but there is no more wiggling it to get the signal strength back. So, going to have to get someone in I think, will call tomorrow. Going to try Hythe TV Service (97 Dymchurch Road Hythe CT21 6JN 01303 264949) as I go past them on the way to work and it's nice to support a local business...

Might see if they can put some extra cables in too, I know a satellite dish can support four lines out, and our freesat humax box only takes two in, so I can (in theory) run another box in another room from the same dish.

💬 Update, managed to adjust it
