When I want to connect my raspberry pi media centre to the TV I should do it with one of these1 instead. That does involve a other remote control but hopefully not quite as complicated a procedure for switching between. Hopefully.
Last weekend I did an audit of all of the cables in the back of the TV, because the wii stopped working, and managed to remove FIVE that were doing nothing at all. Was also able to swap a couple of hdmi cables so that it's not quite such a stretch to reach the blu-ray / surround sound that is inside the cabinet from the TV. So all is good!
Waiting until pay day though, still got another week to go before I can do anything.
