Blog2015 ≫ Successful dinner for sixteen at our house

I can't take any of the credit, except for the shopping and washing up parts of it, but we managed a sit down dinner for sixteen people in our house yesterday. The most we've ever done before is probably six. Clare did a big roast dinner, ably assisted in the kitchen by Dom and Dean and everything went pretty smoothly. I was not confident we had the room in our dining room, nor even the room in our oven for that much food but it worked just fine.

On a smaller scale we're going to be having pa-in-law Jim over for dinner once a week from now on.

First proper day back at work today for most people, what a gloomy Monday it is. Third day of not drinking for me, after being talked into abandoning it on the second of Jan. Going OK so far. I bought a new home brew kit yesterday, going to try a porter this time. I'll be making it / keeping an eye on it as part of febrewery but am not sure if it'll be ready to drink my then.
