Blog2015 ≫ Tryanuary

Hmm possibly Clare and I are going without drinking in January. Possibly. Writing this before the funeral, but not intending to post frivolous stuff like this until after, we'll see how that goes. What is a wake without lots of booze? I think I will give it a go, and so will miss out entirely on tryanuary.co.uk1. Going to start up some new home brew soon though, will take me about six weeks. If I could only drink my own home brew, I'd save money on booze. None of these are new years resolutions or anything crazy like that, it's not legally binding or anything, but maybe they're aspirations.

Join the #tryanuary movement!

Make it your mission to seek out new INDEPENDENT breweries, beers, bars and bottle shops, and share your discoveries with people throughout January. It's that simple.

Even though the UK is currently enjoying a boom in all things beer, those hard-working independent businesses still need your vital support! By celebrating, sharing and enjoying what's out there, you can help. We all know that supporting local businesses benefits everyone in the long run.

So why not visit your local bottle shop and buy a couple of new brews? Go and try the new micro-pub or bar that's opened up round the corner? Visit your local breweries to learn about the beer they make, and what makes it special? Ask in your local which beers really are local? Then share your discoveries and find other people's via the #tryanuary hashtag!

This isn't about drinking more. It's about trying something different. Tasting something new. Experiencing something interesting.
