Blog2014 ≫ Last minute christmas non-shopping

Went to Canterbury yesterday, for some last minute window shopping. Didn't really need anything but thought we'd go anyway. We had lunch in Ask which was nice enough but very slow. They were busy, the town was busy, but not quite as heaving as when we went the week before.

Clare had to take a walk up to the other end of Canterbury, and so rather than drag Number one son there she marched on with number two son sleeping in the buggy and we stayed put. I took the opportunity to go in Eastbridge Hospital1. I've always fancied a look but have never found the time. There's an art sale in there at the moment so it was free to go in which spurred me on. Didn't see much of it, just the lower level and the small chapel by the entrance but might go and have another look. Probably without Number one son who just wanted to climb on things. Get down of there, this is nearly 900 years old!

We also spent some time in The Beaney2 too, the library and museum. Got a couple of books out for Clare and thing one and gave me some ideas of what to read next. After loving The Cloud Atlas I moved on to The Dogs Of Riga, an excellent Wallander story. Nearly finished it and more crime beckons.
