I read an amazing book called . I'm a very slow reader these days but this took me relatively little time, it's pretty gripping. It's six stories in one, first heading forward in time from 18th century to 1920s, heading on into a post apocalyptic future. Each story cuts short as we leap into the next one, then as part six is resolved we revisit the earlier periods to finish their story, and get more of a clue as to how they are connected. It's by David Mitchell (not that one) and was shortlisted for the Booker prize in 2004, though didn't win. We joke that the winners are mostly unreadable (Hilary Mantell being the only exception I can think of) so now we're going to try and pick out more runners up...

I think there is a film, going to seek it out!
