Blog2014 ≫ Day of new hardware

Got some new stuff today, various levels of interestingness. New washing machine arrived at about 7.30 this morning, no problem squeezing it through the house into the utility room. I was a bit worried as the door to the utility room is not a real door, it's narrower and has been hacked out of a hall cupboard - in the other houses on the street there's no door there at all. The normal access is through the garage, and we have converted our garage since the old washing machine was installed... but it was all OK. I have plumbed it in this evening, and all is good. It is not internet enabled or anything, but it's early days.

Also got me a new raspberry pi, a "model a", so no ethernet and only the one usb port, but I have also got a camera module1 for it. It's going to be a bit trickier to set up, but I think using a usb hub that I have I'll be OK to connect keyboard and wifi at the same time. Then I'm going to use it as a security camera plus additional tinkering.

Watching Line Of Duty on TV, it's very very good. We're only half way through and I know it has finished already so I hope we can avoid any spoilers.

raspberry pi: Credit card sized super cheap computer, awesome.
