Since google just bought nest.com 4 I just saw a scaremongering "omg I just got an advert on my thermostat, google want to put their advertising on all the products in your house!!!" post on the google plus - not true of course.

We need a new thermostat I have convinced myself, not sure it will be as much of a hack as this one though...
