A productive New Years Day - I fitted my loft ladder that I got for christmas. When it said on the instructions "do not use this loft ladder to get into the loft in order to fit this loft ladder, get another loft ladder for that purpose" they were surely just covering themselves weren't they? I did have to stand on it when it was only propped in place in order to do the drilling and screwing.
My drill1 gave up part way through the job which was annoying, it started slipping so I had to do the screws by hand. Hard work, so obviously I left them only partly tightened. Luckily it just came back to life again after a while so I have been able to finish the job.
More loft ladders here2...
