Blog2013 ≫ Serendipity

Had a stroke of luck on our big weekend out (yeah over a week ago and I'm still writing it up). After we left the Florence Arms we were planning to go to Elm Grove to eat so I thought we'd go via a pub I used to go to a long time ago The India. Seems The India isn't there any more, it's turned into a sort of Italian restaurant bar bistro, but right next door to that is The Hole In The Wall1, which I'd spotted the day before on Portsmouth's best ale houses2 but did not know where it was. It's a brilliant pub, small but perfectly formed. Great real ale and they had mulled wine on too which pleased Clare. A real result, a lovely pub to stumble across in this way.

I used to have a way of linking venues to blog posts, I'll have to reinstate that...
