Blog2013 ≫ Weekend came around fast

Had a busy week at work so it went really fast. I didn't have time to mention last week's DIY success and already I'm set for another one. I finally got round to returning my butt pump to B&Q - it stopped working after about the third time of using it. B&Q exchanged it for me no problem. If this one causes me any trouble I'll get my money back. Only thing is will I use it again this year? It's sat tidily unopened in its box with its receipt so I should have no trouble, just waiting for the warmer weather to experiment again.

Also we had a leak in the bathroom, some of the heavy rain came in through the extractor fan. So I took it out and cleaned it up. It's still working but I replaced it with a new one anyway, a bit cleaner and a bit quieter. Now I have the old one spare which I can put back into the other bathroom, which has never had a working extractor.

I've done some "sniffing" work this week, with that air quality meter, it's working nicely so I would like to connect it up to the extractor fan, that would be a cool little project. Needs a relay though, which I have always been nervous of. I have my lightwaverf rf signal sending and receiving working on the arduino too so maybe I'll just join those all together - safe control of mains electricity, entirely isolated by rf.

Bed now as it is my turn to be up early in the morning. Got to get some pictures of number two son for his birthday thank you cards, and might do a christmas card with he and Number one son on too.
