Blog2013 ≫ DIY electrics

Clare has gone to The Ship with her dad and her brother, so instead of just sitting in drinking wine and watching TV I've fitted some more sockets. Now the socket in the hall matches the switches, and I can power down the surround sound remotely, turn it off overnight etc. More lightwaverf, not done any of this for a while. I always have grief with sockets, the liners here always seem to be too tight with too much wiring jammed into them, so if you try and replace the face plates the new ones are such a squeeze to get back on.

On that subject I have a huge pull request1 for my lightwaverf project2. It hardly feels like mine any more, it has a life of its own now... Some good ideas in there, I like the randomising of lights for security. Not that I need to use things like this of course if you see my lights going on and off I'm definitely home, so don't think of robbing us.

In other news that is light and frivolous enough for here (oh yeah there is news that is not) my hearing has been fine for a week or so but today it went again, I really do need to get my ears syringed. Also the boys have been so good today, really well behaved and lots of fun. Clare took number two son out this morning and Number one son played in the garden while I did some mowing and other tidying, then this afternoon I took them both out with me shopping. After a few nights of not such good sleep while we were away, thing two's sleeping really well so far tonight.

Now I am sat down at last, feel like I've been rushing about a bit today, and watching The Other Boleyn Girl. Seen it before but it's great, and such a good cast. I'm enjoying this Tudor season on the BBC.
