Blog2013 ≫ Lovey sunny day today, I hope it has not resulted in a tragedy

I was indoors for most of it of course in London, at the AWS Summit in Islington. It was a one day mini conference, a freebie hosted by Amazon where they could tell us all about all their AWS offerings and we could hear testimonials by many happy customers. Was OK, but as we are actually using all of their web services at work (and I even use some to host this blog) there was not much in the way of new information for me.

I say "tragedy" because as I come home by taxi from the station I can see a helicopter hovering over the beach outside the house. It has been hovering up and down the beach for at least half an hour, though has just gone. I'd like to think it was just someone looking for the sandgate dolphin but more likely it's a rescue helicopter searching for someone in the sea.
