Amazing how simple some great tunes are on the guitar. Will they all appear so simple when I look at them tomorrow without the glass of wine? Will what I'm playing now actually sound like the bits of tunes I'm trying to play if I were to record it and listen to it again? Or to try and play it to someone else? I tried to play and sing a bit of "A Boy Named Sue" earlier to Clare and she grimmaced and squirmed and eventually agreed that yes I did seem to be singing the same tune I was playing, but it wasn't the tune that she recognised. This is adapted from ultimate guitar1:

                    G A D
E-----------------------------------------------|
B-----------------------------------------------|
G--------------0--------------------------------| x 3
D--0--0--4--4----------------------------2--0---|
A-----------------0------2--2--0--0---4---------|
E--------------------3--------------------------|

and I am amazed that the chords for this (at least the chords that that person1 has worked out) are the same beginners chords that I am learning. My decision to start with the now form a band2 3 chords that all the songs ever appear to use seems to have been a sound one.
