Blog2013 ≫ Nearly went swimming today

We went to Canterbury today to try and go swimming, but it was shut for a gala. I've not seen Number one son quite so sad as when we got there and saw the sign outside, he was really looking forward to it. So we went to a cafe and a restaurant instead and he soon perked up. First to Chambers, not that one, a cafe of that name near the cathedral. It was really nice, interesting too, it lays claim to being the birthplace somehow of the pilgrim fathers1 who went to America on the Mayflower. They have an interesting toilet there, stuffed with books, good baby change, and a secret door that possibly goes to tunnels that possibly lead to the cathedral itself. I'd like to live there.

Lunch in Caffe Uno which was great. Was very busy in there, though the rest of Canterbury seemed relatively quiet. It was absolutely freezing out.

I got a guitar lead today, so powered up the new guitar for the first time. That little practice amp is surprisingly noisy. I will have to continue practicing at night without it being plugged in, thought might look for the right sort of headphone jack, I must have one like that somewhere.
