Blog2013 ≫ DIY fail

Fitted more new lightwaverf light switches today, in the downstairs hallway this time. Have put one in the downstairs loo, seems a bit pointless at first glance, that is the last place I might want to control remotely. BUT the window from that overlooks the recycling bins and I often turn that light on when I'm going out with the recycling. So, it's a short hop from here to putting a PIR out there so that light comes on automatically. Means I get enough light outside without having to put a new light out there.

The fail is with the other lights in the hallway. The downstairs light is good, but the two way light switch (that controls the upstairs light from downstairs, and vice versa) has now stopped working. I seem to have wired them in series (so both switches need to be on) instead of parallel (so either switch can turn the light on). Not sure what has gone wrong, there aren't really a lot of wires to work with. I was just replacing like for like, I thought.

Hmm that is two "fail" posts in a row, generally things are going really well though!
