Shame it was quieter than normal (the only times I get to go to the Chambers quiz it is crazy rammed and hectic) but perhaps that worked in our favour. We won the Chambers quiz last night, and took a cash prize, very nice.
If there had been more people there the pot would have been bigger, but if there had been more people there we may not have won.
This is part of my site The 'Gerald that I set up in a fury of excitement when we first came to Folkestone sometime in 2004. I'd been a frequent visitor for a while previous to that so I am technically one of those DFLs you get nowadays. The site was updated more frequently with a gig calendar + voting for best venues and things, + I know it was a useful reference for those who were moving here. Now I've moved out of Folkestone again (though just to Hythe) it doesn't get as much attention as it used to. Ironic really as The town is becoming the exciting place we always thought it was about to become. My name is not Gerald BTW, this comes from a fake newspaper in an episode of The Day Today or something, the Portsmouth Gerald, + how there is a local newspaper here called the Folkestone Herald.
