Disappointed. We had a beautiful bit of fish, nicely cooked that was destroyed as a meal by chips that were either re-heated or kept warm under a light for a long period of time. The chips were chewy rendering the wooden implements virtually useless The meal sat heavy. We had high hopes of a an 'upmarket' fish and chip shop. The surroundings were modern but stark; service was poor and ultimately the product was overpriced.

This is part of my site The Folkestone Gerald that I set up in a frenzy of excitement when I first moved to Folkestone in approximately 2004. I had been a frequent visitor for a while previous to that so I am technically one of those Down From Londons you get now. The site was a lot more dynamic with a calendar of events + voting for best venues and things, + I hear it was a handy resource for others who were thinking of moving here. Now I've moved out of Folkestone again (though just a couple of miles) it doesn't get as much love as it used to. Ironic really as Folkestone itself is becoming the exciting place we knew it was about to become. My name is not Gerald by the way, the name comes from the name of a pretend paper in an episode of Brasseye or something, the Portsmouth Gerald, + how there is a local newspaper here called the Folkestone Herald. Puns like this are GRATE aren't they? Do get in touch if you have something to offer, email anythign @ this domain, or try @folkestone or @pauly on the twitter.
