Blog2011 ≫ My Buffalo Linkstation (NAS) has disappeared from the network

can anyone help me diagnose?

It's a Buffalo Linksation1 and had been working fine, I think it just stopped when the xbmc was indexing the music on it. It's jut not available now, doesn't appear as an attached device on the router even though it's plugged in directly. Maybe it got corrupted somehow? How can I tell, how can I diagnose the problem? Even if I could hard reboot it somehow that would be a start (though annoying to lose all the TV and films on there that I have now deleted from the computer. The lights are on, but nobody is home. It's plugged in, it's turned on, I've tried turning it on and off again, I've tried changing the network cable, I've had NAS Navigator rescan the network in case something had made it change it's IP address, but nothing.

Anyone got any ideas?

Aha Recovering a non working / bricked Linkstation2 looks to be the place to start...

xbmc: XBox Media Centre, some software that would run on an old xbox or other computer hardware to play movies and music ect ect. I used to talk about this a lot...
