Blog2010 ≫ Remote light switch has arrived

So attempting to wire that up tonight...

If you never hear from me again it is because I've tried to do some mains electrics by myself and it's gone horribly wrong. Dad helped replace the dry liner1 that I broke on the bathroom light switch, it seemed to go smoothly, we can isolate the power to one floor quite easily in this house without having to turn off the power downstairs.

This bonus of having several separate ring mains does make me wonder if X10 home automation2 type stuff is going to work, @hpoom tells me it does not jump reliably across mains like it should. I will try my existing powerline mains ethernet thing later (need it for the XBox anyway) and see...
