Blog2010 ≫ Semi fiascous weekend

Is it worth adding a \"precis\" now I am not reposting to twitter?

Good weekend, quite tiring weekend though, painting and decorating and DIY for most of it, but also went out and stayed up too late.

First on to the disasters, one I fell asleep on the (cream) sofa with a glass of red wine in my hand, oops. I was just tired, not drunk! I put the sofa cover in the wash, this seems to have been a bit too much for it and it's started to bust the stitches. It's not in a place that shows, and it can be repaired, but I do need to be more careful. Or drink more white wine.

Next disaster, the boy smashed Clare's IPOD touch on the floor. It's still working but the screen has big cracks across it now. This can be fixed but is it worth it?

Apart from that, good weekend. Emma was visiting, we went to Chambers, were all a bit too tired though really. Forgot the Folkestone Skabour festival was going on so we had to pay to stay in Chambers, did not watch the band though. Clare and Emma went to Bar Vasa on the Friday night, it is still open, and someone there said they're opening a new cocktail bar on the first floor.

A successful weekend of DIY, I finished painting the hall, the downstairs loo, and our bathroom, and put up bathroom cabinet and towel rails. The walls in our new house are made of cream cheese, very difficult to put anything up, I just about got there with some heavy duty hollow wall fixings though. Next stop, the massive mirror in the lounge! Still lots more to do.

No sign of Gary Glitter yet, we have new neighbours moving in tomorrow though.
