So get along! All sounds a little bit expensive to me, I guess I'm just out of touch with what it costs to go to a gig these days, but I would expect to only pay a fiver tops for acts I'd not heard of. Maybe you're cooler than me though and are well up on your your 3 Daft Monkeys Cornish folk rock and so on. I hope this is a success, and this becomes part of [the Barfly](/wiki/#barfly) / [Wedgewood Rooms](/wiki/#wedgewood/rooms) / [Joiners](/wiki/#joiners) type circuit, they were all great local venues for me at the time, where you'd see up and coming and just about established bands at pocket money prices. Ee, and you could leave your back door open! What a moaning git. Dead Kids night sounds like a highlight to me, I might see you there. Or am I confusing them with Black Kids? I hope they shift their ticketing to Ticketweb or [Ticketmaster](/wiki/#ticketmaster) soon, then I can really promote the events and take a little share of the revenue to prop this site up too...

This is part of my site The 'Gerald that I built in a fury of excitement when I first came to Folkestone in approximately 2004. I had been a frequent visitor for a while previous to that but I am technically one of those DFLs you get nowadays. The site was updated more frequently with a gig calendar + voting for favourite venues + things, + I know it was a handy resource for those who were moving to the area. Now I've moved out of Folkestone again (though just a couple of miles) it doesn't get as much love as it used to. Ironic really as Folkestone itself is now becoming the exciting place we always thought it was just about to. My name is not Gerald by the way, the name comes from a pretend newspaper in an episode of Brasseye or something, the Portsmouth Gerald, and how there is a local paper here called the Folkestone Herald. Puns like this are great aren't they? Do get in touch if you have anything to contribute, email anythign @ this domain, or try @folkestone or @pauly on Twitter.
