Have to say I totally understand what you're saying about Blackpool - I've been there a few times on days out with Em (it's half an hour from Blackburn). It's a grim old place alright - stag and hen parties spilling out onto the street at ten in the morning, nice. For me it has two redeeming features The Big One, by far the scariest roller coaster I've ever been on, and The Ketch Inn which is a rather ace eat-in fish and chip shop which does a truly fantastic line in steak pie. I did enjoy going up the tower too - you have to go right through the old ballroom.
