Blog2006 ≫ Get it over with...

Football was disappointing, but probably where we deserved to get to. Knocked out by Manchester United though, who'd have thought it. The rest of the weekend was fabulous, here we go.

Saturday had some friends visiting, so we headed out for a GREAT lunch at Escondido1, and a cheeky drink in The Ship, two of my favourite places in town2. We sat outside the Ship, though there was no sign of the elusive dolphins.

Played a load of pool and darts and drank a tonne of booze before the game, and really quite a lot during it, then I think we headed out, not entirely clear. Chambers first, then took a chance on a cab ride to Bar Vasa, I've never been there before, and it's alright. Then on the way back we called in the all new Sandgate Hotel. It's changed hands since Gordon Ramsay's visit, now the bar is bigger and brighter and really looks quite cool. It's maybe inspiring me to wallpaper some of our flat. But maybe not. Then into The Clarendon, and then a wobbly stagger home home.

Yesterday we bussed it to Canterbury, it was far too hot to be doing this. Lunch was Wagamama, for the first time in a very long time, and it was much improved on last time. It's been so long that the menu has new dishes on it, and it was all nice enough that we're looking forward to our next visit.

Dave Gorman is a David Devant fan3, and my typing speed was 80 WPM4, first go, including going back and fixing my mistakes. I was telling Clare the other day I reckoned I could do 100 WPM I think. If I do better, I reckon I'll be back to update this5!
