Folkestone, safest place in the country

FG ≫ 2004 ≫ Folkestone, safest place in the country

Folkestone gets noticed by the national news again in this story about passive smoking1... A non smoking journalist crawls some pubs and measures the levels of carbon monoxide in their bloodstream... "For some reason The Harvey's Wine Bar in Folkestone, Kent, fared better than the rest"...

Hmm, new review of Shanel's Brasserie up soon on Folkestone RestauRANTS, they were crap at the weekend... was it YOUR hen night dominating the one waitress so no-one else could get food?

This is my site The 'Gerald that I set up in a fury of excitement when I first came to Folkestone sometime in '04. I had been a frequent visitor for a while previous to that so I am technically one of those DFLs you get now. This site was updated more frequently with a calendar of events + voting for best venues and things, + I know it was a useful resource for those who were moving to the area. Now I've moved out of Folkestone again (though only to Hythe) it doesn't get as much love as it used to. Ironic really as The town is now becoming the exciting place we knew it was about to become. My name is not Gerald by the way, this comes from a pretend newspaper in an episode of The Day Today or something, the Portsmouth Gerald, and how there is a local newspaper here called the Folkestone Herald. Puns like this are great aren't they? Do get in touch if you have something to contribute, email anythign @ this domain, or try @folkestone or @pauly on the twitter.
