Blog2004 ≫ No Credit Cards for Glastonbury 2004

As you know Glastonbury tickets go on sale at 8pm on the 1st of April 2004, they'll cost 112 plus this year, plus booking fee, plus postage... Also there are plans afoot for the tickets to be non transferrable, each one will be linked to the purchaser in some way and then checked on the gate.

What you maybe didn't know is that you can't buy them with a credit card! You can still use a debit card, so for a lot of peopel this isn't an issue, but for those hoping to borrow the money from Visa or Mastercard, you're out of luck... cheques and postal orders will still be accepted, but I'm not sure how that'll work over the phone.

This has been introduced as a security measure apparently, and to discourage touts who'd buy on a credit card, then ebay them before the bill comes in... it should also mean a lower booking fee than normal, but it's not clear who this saving is passed on to.
