Trying to write a mail bounce handling thing for popex, but getting an annoying error saying not available to sendmail... thought it might be about the script / directory being symlinked from somewhere else, but it's not, sendmail insists on any scripts that it runs being put in the /etc/smrsh directory... so, all told the solution was:
bounce: "| /etc/smrsh/mailHandler.pl"
into /etc/aliases
newaliases
Haven't made mailHandler.pl do anything smart yet, have to get it to recognise when it gets a bounce, see how many mails that user has bounced, etc... a whole lot of info to stuff into the database. Also the mail queue is so full that it's hard to test this right now.
💬 sendmail bounce handler works!
