There's a new kind of smart socket from Aqara 1, where the socket itself has the smarts. It's like the good form factor of the old ones I had, LightwaveRF. Not sure why not many people do this. Anyway until recently for smart sockets, like behind the washing machine and tumble dryer, I have an adapter that plugs into the socket. For the kitchen or bedroom or lounge it would be nice for it to be lower profile, all built into the wall like this. So I will get one soon. Terrible time to be thinking of plugging the fridge freezer though into it is it not? Sure I already posted this one.

Businesses in the UK's food supply chain have been impacted by the cyber-attack which hit supermarket fridges and freezers across Europe on Monday.
The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) says it is aware of "a couple of instances where vulnerable technology had been exploited in the UK."
