Blog ≫ 2026 ≫ Fatal car crash in Hythe High Street

How does this happen? It's a mostly pedestrianised, very quiet high street. This was half seven in the evening, so there's more room then, but still sounds odd.

A man in his 60s has died after his car crashed into a building, police have said.

Kent Police said the crash in Hythe High Street happened shortly before 19:30 BST on Wednesday, and the driver was confirmed to have died at the scene.

A police spokesperson said the man's death was not being treated as suspicious, and his next of kin had been informed.

Time to call my sixty year old friends.
