Blog ≫ 2026 ≫ Quiet night in

A quiet night in, but can I rest? T1 is out in London with a friend, they have gone to a Keo gig and signing at Rough Trade East in Brick Lane. Wife and T2 are at the cinema. She was going with her dad to see Sense and Sensibility and at the last minute T2 decided to go. Definitely the pickʼn'mix talking there I think. So I can sit in, and watch TV. But I will be expecting a call at any time from T1, they have missed the train, something's gone wrong. Wife is waiting up for him when she gets in, and in theory will collect him from the station, as long as he gets the ten fifteen... if they do not get that there is rail replacement bus shenanigans and they will be home in the early hours. I am up at half five to go into the office. I think I'll sleep through it. I did this sort of nonsense when I was his age.

Weather really turned today, actually a bit of a chill, and raining.

Light rain and a fresh breeze, 7 - 15℃.
