Blog ≫ 2026 ≫ It felt a bit sad in Folkestone today
Went for a walk round Folkestone while waiting for T1 and his guitar lesson. Small groups of people sat outside The Harbour Inn remind me of covid times and eat out to help, when we were allowed to go to the restaurants but not sit inside. We went there a couple of times.
Does feel like a tide is out across the whole of Folkestone. Summer's over, everyone's a little bit sad.
Kipps is full because they have a quiz on, and some other places seem to be busy. I wonder if they have midweek deals on to be busy. Same in Luben and in the tapas place that used to be The Wishing Well. It was busy in The Birstin too, in the room I could see in anyway. People sat around for bingo, so I think some people are still holiday.
