Friday night in the Potting Shed, and many admiring comments regarding my new jacket. Also the Jinginha I brought back from Portugal went down a storm. Then next mornign after parkrun and a quick stop at the comic shop I drove down to Portchester. Lousy run down there, some small holdups and lots of rain. Didn't take as long as some bad runs have done, traffic never really stopped but it was quite slow in parts particularly the M25. The heavy bursts of rain did make me worry for those who were at festivals this weekend. Some of T1's friends reported putting their tent up in the mud at Reading.
Got there ok and pleased to see for myself that the wobbly parent was not quite so wobbly as I feared.
Later after tea, out to the West Street Ale House, great to catch up with friends. My jacket drew admiring comments again. Wish I could see these friends more often, and not just so they could admire my clothes. Nice that one of the wives was out too, albeit briefly. So funny that she said, she always ask her husband after one of these nights "how is everyone and what is the news" and he never has anything to say, and now she's seen it for herself that we just talk about nothing, and it all makes sense. She had been ill too so nice to see shw was on the mend.
Saw sister and nephews and met one nephew's new girlfriend who is nice. Then a lovely roast dinner, and then a better drive home again. The rest of the family here are still out at Bowling, or actually more likely now at Wagamama or Pizza Express.
Maybe another Marvel film tonight just been told no Marvel tonight, they have watched too many this week, so Ludwig instead, the David Mitchell comedy crime thing.
Thundery showers and a fresh breeze, 15 - 23℃.
