Blog2026 ≫ Another action packed day

University, David Bowie, cider festival and football world cup action...

Just like I'm fitting a week's worth of blogging into one post, yesterday I fitted at least a week's worth of activity into one day.

First back to Friday. Good day of interesting work, I'm working on a general anomaly alert, and am pretty close. Let us know when anything across the business is happening significantly more or less than it is normally for this time of day / week. Well, interesting to me anyway. I keep thinking about it and am looking forward to getting back to it. So didn't leave work early, headed down to the Potting Shed about half five. Swore I was going to leave early to be back for the Belgium / Spain match. I did not leave as early as planned, I was back for half time.

Saturday morning up promptly, no run this week, straight to London. T1 had a university open day at Kings, so we went there and left him for the day! We first thought we might go round with him, then thought he'll only be out for about an hour before we meet him again. He was off all day, learning about university and hanging out with a school friend. So wife, T2, and I explored on our own. We went round Borough Market, and walked around the South Bank and over the Millenium Bridge. Had our lunch in Gail's on the North side, then back to London Bridge area again. Went to The Miller that a friend had spotted this week while on a university visit with his son, and they had a cider festival on. 100 real ciders at four quid a pint, and we could sit down on sofas, and they had the right choice of other drinks. A good spot. A couple of pints, and still no word from T1, so onward. More walking via bookshops, to another pub, The Mudlark, where eventually T1 joined us.

I am up early this morning, waiting for shopping delivery at half nine. I can hear movement upstairs though so I will have to stop this write-up and come back to it so I'm not sat on laptop when the house is in a mess...

Sunny and a fresh breeze, 15 - 24℃.
