Blog2026 ≫ Boy had a great birthday day out

Weather was terrible yesterday, so a wet park run. Then picked him up after work and to The Board Room to meet friends for shuffleboard and darts. I loitered in the bar as they needed an adult on the booking apparently, but there was no problem with this. I think they could have got away without me being there at all. The place was really nice, really busy, though felt expensive for drinks to me.

Wife and T2 came and joined me, then I headed up to the comic shop to pick up the new Groo The Wanderer, then back to the bar.

The boys abandoned their plans to eat outdoors at the Harbour Arm and headed in to Burrito Buoy instead. We headed to The Ship for our dinner, but before ordering I had to head back to Burrito Buoy to collect the lad, deliver them to ours to play board games, then back to the pub for my dinner. But no beer for me as they needed lifts home again later.

I think it was a succesful day, everyone seemed happy with the outcome. His friends were fun and easy to talk to, they like their music.

Light cloud and a fresh breeze, 13 - 18℃.
