Blog2026 ≫ Been to London, what else has happened this week?

Not a lot really happens in the week. Work, tea, TV, bed. I am enjoying Traitors Ireland, surprised myself there. Getting quite into the characters and the scheming, but mostly the incompetence and the joy of seeing unpleasant people kicked out.

London was fine, I didn't need to be there though. Not much in person interaction. I was working on a puzzling issue with two other people in the office, and we were all sat on the same block of desks. But what with other remote meetings we sat with headphones on chatting and solving the problem via msteams. We did speak properly at lunch. I had a falafal wrap AND a samosa. Weather was not all that, a bit chilly in the morning, a bit rainy at lunch, warmed up again by the time of my walk home.

Having bother with headphones. I now have two sets of possibly these noise cancelling Soundcore earbuds 1, two because I lost / broke one, bought another set, and now one of the earbuds will only charge in the old case. So I have to carry two cases, with one in each. Should I buy another set of them? They are cheap, but maybe I really am doing buy-cheap-buy-twice... OK, it's actually these 1 should I buy just one more set..?

I found my old over the ear bluetooth headphones, I've had them for years, from Plantronic. I lost them, then found them in a drawer. Have started using them again for work, they work well. If I walk with them on though I cna hear the noise of them moving up and down slightly on my head, so I definitely prefer the in ear ones.

We were going to London tomorrow but we've canned that now because of double protests. We'd avoid the protest area, but last year it closed the restaurant we were going to, and the train was full of far right pricks. Best avoided.

Pay day one week from today, and it's the bonus pay day, that's the day to be buying new things. Then got some birthdays to sort out, and then a holiday. And then it's all gone again and looking forward to next year's bonus pay day. Or, actually before that, I have a share save maturing later this year.

Light rain and a gentle breeze, 5 - 13℃.
