I only did five days on call, but I got called three times. Not exactly getting away with it. I think I was working for about three and a half hours on the Monday, an hour on Friday maybe, and then got called again yesterday. We were just sitting down to play the new Catan dice game and the alerts went off. Luckily this time it was a "normal" incident and I only got the call because the primary on call person didn't acknowledge all the alerts that came in. It was sorted by the time I got to it.
I can only claim for anything over two hours normally so will have to see what I can get this week. Then it might be added on to this Friday's pay day. Looking forward to that as I have the day off again! And Thursday! So no commute for me again this week. Then next weekend probably serious shopping.
I've been doing some more gig research while I was off, so adding some more content, some more pages. Found another gig I was at, Brian May at Virgin Megastore, and then if you click through to that gig you can see other adjacent gigs. I will add a bit more detail there too, but you can see in the same week I also saw Jack (the actual band) and Embrace. Hmm, they weren't all solid gold were they?
I also found PROOF, via an old Melody Maker gig guide of the date of a disputed Tripping Daisy / Smoking Popes gig, it was thirty years ago this very day. I thought it was the 24th, worked out via a process of elimination, but I was still out by two days. Turns out they did play Manchester between two London dates.
Interesting stuff.
Light rain and a fresh breeze, 7 - 12℃.
