Blog2026 ≫ The shares just keep falling then

My stonks have fallen quite a bit this week, and the new account for the boys is down about 10%. I'm sure it'll recover again, but it is annoying timing. I am not mentioning it to them for now and I don't think they're monitoring it. Possibly though, I did suggest they check in using a stocks app on their phones. T1 is likely to have done, possibly even getting alerts each time it falls another percentage point. T2 unlikely.

I should keep in perspective the money lost this week is only the loss of the wild gains of the previous couple of weeks. Overall I'm slightly up on the last month. That is what we always say in our stonks group chat, "slightly up", as that's my impression of what gamblers always say when asked how they're doing.

Still wondering if I might get some extra money on pay day, seems unlikely now. Unlikely to get the extra money as a tax rebate anyway, I will get a little extra for doing some on call days next week.

I do seem to write a lot about money, where is the next lump of free money coming from? I'm actually doing fine, got enough money, got good savings and so on. I just like seeing the numbers change, seeing the amounts go up, seeing the accounts tick over another digit. It is like the excitement of seeing all the digits change on the milometer.

Oh I missed the exciting gigiversary yesterday that it was exactly twenty years since The Mighty Boosh came to town and we went to see the show in Folkestone.

Another quiet day here today, then off to London tomorrow, then it's Friday pub day and everything is great again.

Light rain and a fresh breeze, 7 - 11℃.
