Blog2026 ≫ I think I'm just sat waiting for pay day now

Hmm, this is sad, I am wishing my life away here. Ever since I heard about the potential tax rebate it has been the entire focus of everything. It will turn up in the next pay packet, but It's not pay day for three weeks, I need to find some things to enjoy in the meantime.

I do have a week off in the middle of it, that's good. Taking the whole of half term off, though I will still be on call for most of it. So not working in the day time but the potential to be called in the evening. It's all been fairly good recently though, I might be alright. I am going to take full advantage of not having to go to London that week by, er, going to London one day. We all have the day off, we will find some fun. There is some Pokemon thing on at the Natural History museum, but we'd only be going there if T2 earns it as a special treat. Getting a positive referral from school is one way, or doing his jobs without being prompted for the whole week. I think we're safe and we'll just have a fun time of shopping, cafe, pub, restaurant.

So that's a week of work, week off, another week of work, then pay day, then some closure on this tax thing. Will it be an amount of money worth shouting about? Unlikely. And if it is I won't actually be shouting about it, I'd be very quiet indeed so no-one suddenly makes plans for it.

At the end of the first week one of my friends is coming back from an extended holiday, so we'll go out, and wife and I are going out with two other friends another day.

I must remember the small pleasures in life, we will hopefully be having a nice dinner tonight. Hopefully nice because I am making it. And I have already got my other chores out of the way, so a relaxing evening. We'll watch Death In Paradise, and then hopefully another episode of Wonder Man, really enjoying that. I love Ben Kingsley's character of Trevor Slattery in the Marvel universe.

Light cloud and a gentle breeze, 7 - 10℃.
