I went to see Suede twice in a row, I trailed it here, but here is the official write up of the gig. I rushed that a bit, but instead of going back and editing it, here is more.
We left T2 at home instead of taking him to grandpa's, a last minute choice of his, as he was feeling better. We were parked right opposite the venue and timed it just right to meet the frieds whose tickets I had. In and to the merch stand, where T1 bought a t-shirt and I did not.
In to see Bloodworm who were great again. Three piece very young band from Nottingham seemingly influenced by the stuff I like, The Cure and Joy Division. Feels odd writing this again having written the same thing after seeing them the following night, but there you go, this feels fair. Wife and T1 had a spot right down the front so decided to stay there, if I could bring them more drinks. So I did and joined my friends nearer the back.
Similar set to the previous time T1 and I saw them in London, at least the opening six are the same:
So some stuff in the middle I'm less familiar with, but a treat to hear The 2 Of Us like that. Wife and other friend who had joined them at the front particularly enjoyed that. They had a whale of a time in fact, it taking them back to seeing the same band at the same venue in 1997 3
The after The 2 Of Us we got a couple of proper bangers and then Beautiful Ones which they seemingly love to end on now, but that's not quite the end as they played one more. Not really an encore though, did they even go off?
I went to get the car during The Only Way I Can Love You and waited outside for them. A successful gig! And I would be going again the next day too...
