Blog2025 ≫ Getting out of commuting tomorrow

Keeping this one a bit quiet as the wife is commuting in two days in a row and is not happy about it. But I'm skipping it because we have the double whammy tomorrow of boy's birthday, and same boy's parents evening. Yes we should definitely keep his present back until we hear the parents evening feedback shouldn't we. It's all remote again, they'll never do parents evenings in person will they. Can we be confident we're actually speaking to real teachers and it is not just an ai avatar? Hmm can my work be confident of that when they talk to me?

Not going to London saves me about £88 in train fare alone. That is like earning another £88 in my take home pay, so allowing for tax and so on it's really worth quite a lot for me not to go in. I was just looking back to the first day I started this job and It was £77 then. I had a plan (that I more or less stuck to) of saving the money I should have been spending on trains. That has gone into shares mostly. I would not have that share account if it wasn't for starting this job.

We can see an impressive super moon about now apparently. There does seem to be one of these every month though. I did think yesterday that it looked a bit of a wolf-ish moon when I was putting the recycling out, I didn't realise it was just about full. Today it is the full moon, a super moon, a super beaver moon they say.

Light cloud and a moderate breeze, 13 - 16℃.
