The house is still upside down, the new bathroom is not quite finished on time, but it's getting there. All the things I was worried about haev come good. I can see in the mirror, the shaver socket is back, it does not block the door, the toilet and sink are in. Nearly everything is done, a little finishing off to do in the shower and the boxing in of the pipework. It's going to be ok. There is a weird smell in there right now, hope that goes.
The house is being cleaned today, even though a couple of the rooms are still inaccessible. I say being cleaned, we are not cleaning it, we are going out! Off to London to see Gene. And trains are ruined, there is a replacement bus for part of the journey both ways. That is going to be fun at midnight.
It's been chaos at work this week I have not been able to focus on anything I have been flitting from task to task. It's all been good and interesting, but I wish it wasn't all happening at once.
I have a work day out on Monday, a one day conference in London. Then I was offered the chance to go to Amsterdam for a couple of days at the end of the month but I have thought about it and turned it down. It would be good, but it would be disruptive. Also the pressure would be on for me to justify why I was going and I couldn't do that, I don't think it would be good value for the business. It would be a jolly for me, but I always think "what if it was my money?". I think it is ok and I don't appear ungrateful. I have suggested what would be better value for me is the Splunk conference in Las Vegas. I'm sure that will be fine.
Other chaotic things, I lost my headphone case, and my attempt at frankensteining a new set out of two old half sets has not worked, so I have no headphones. I used a very old set yesterday, but it wouldn't work today for parkrun. So I must buy some new ones. This is kind of good as I also need a new usb memory stick, I lost that too, and it's so cheap I can't get free postage unless I buy something else.
