Not sure how far I got. I did Parkrun, it went well. Then we went for a walk to Hythe and back, and later for dinner for a friend's birthday. This was to Pomus, a fairly new place in Folkestone. It was very nice! Bit trendy with some odd things on the menu - chicken hearts anyone? I thought I wasn't going to find much to eat but it turns out loads of it was vegan. We had a "big plate" and a small plate each, and that was plenty. Wife had "pork chop" it was a huge plate of meat though. I had the squash, which came with vegan feta, and then our sides were potatoes and cabbage, but much more exciting than that. It was crispy hispi cabbage cut into segments with spicy dressing, and the potatoes were dressed in a vegan lemon butter.
There was lots of wine on the table, but I only had a taste of it as I was driving and not drinking. Still on call.
After we went to The Blind Pig, which is the fourth or fifth incarnation of this small bar on Tontine Street. I thought I knew lots of people in there but each time it was someone I don't actualy know but have seen around the town. Honestly, tiny place less than twenty people in there, and it happened with four people. One was someone who used to work in Chambers (I think he runs this place now), one was the lady from Burrito Boy, one was the Lib Dem councillor, and the other was a guy who drives a VW Beetle. Remember when I used to have a VW Beetle?
Yesterday we went to Canterbury, and that was lovely. I bought nothing, and we didn't even have dinner out, but we had a nice mooch round.
I'm done with my week of on call now. I did get called again by work, but somehow missed it. I got the text but the call had already been answered.
Bathroom is not done yet.
