The rest of the week has been quiet, since being called by work at bedtime on Monday. It has upset my sleeping pattern a bit though, been knackered all week. Work has been hard, there has been stuff that has gone wrong to deal with, but it has also been satisfying. Seeing something break that was not by fault and being able to help and fix it is what the job is all about.

Despite being knackered, and being on call, we went out last night. I drove and took my laptop, but we still went to The Hoptimist in Dover, and then on to The Booking Hall to see a tribute to The Cure. Firstly the pub was good, wish I could have had had more than one weak pint of real ale. Then the support band were really good, called Polo Lounge, they must have been doing covers that I don't know as the songs were really good. Then the tribute to The Cure, and they had properly put some effort in. They went for the authenticity, and played a great set. It was good to see a good crowd, including old goths who were pleased to be out and living their hey dey, and excitable new goths who got properly drunk. One girl had a massive spewing incident that basically closed the toilets by the end of the night. Luckily no-one was drinking by the time we got to this venue (poor bar, all cans) so weren't too put out.

Kind of nice for me to be able to taxi people around, I feel I am owed. And still no call from work.

Gig-history-tastic day, Fluffy today in 1995, Longpigs in 1996, David Devant 1997, and The Magic Numbers in 2013. Looking forward to seeing Devant again soon, we've started to plan a full weekend around it.
