Yeah back to write up our grand eurotour 2025, the bit where we leave Switzerland and head to Italy. In some ways the best bit because a) we're heading to Italy and b) we're leaving Switzerland.
This was a really beautiful train journey, the views were lovely and the train was fast. After we changed in Milan the train got up to 250 kmph. We have been on a faster Italian train between Rome and Naples, but this was still fast. This train went on to Venice, but when we'd be going to Venice in a few days this fast train would no longer be operational.
Anyway, just a short walk down the hill to our home for the next few days, Il Sogno Apartments. It's a small block, just four floors high and we were on the top floor. We had a two bedroom apartment with a small kitchen, a big lounge, and big balconies from the bedrooms and the lounge that look down to Lake Garda. We had a view over the pool too - not our pool but the pool of the next door hotel. We did have a pool but it was on the other side of the building.
We had our first bit of bad weather when we went for a walk down to the town to look for somewhere for dinner. And then the first restaurant we went in wasn't good either. There were LOADS of places to eat and we picked the only one that had nothing for me. We figuredd it out quickly and moved on but now we're having to rush into another choice, and it (Caffe Italia I think) was only OK.
Next morning, and hey breakfast is included! Even though it's an apartment there is a reception lounge type thing and that's where the lincluded breakfast is. It was mostly continental again but with a few hot things. And included. That's my favourite kind.
Lots of nice walking around in Desenzano del Garda, and we got a better idea of the places to go. We liked the mini marina type thing where we stopped for a drink and T2 enjoyed feeding the birds.

Better weather after the first day too, so great weather for our boat trip to the neighbouring town of Sirmione. This was lovely, but we were a bit plagued with wasps.
We loved Desenano del Garda.
I have loads of photos to go through still, I will come back to this.
