Starting with some dictation:
Early start so early to bed. Had my bed time drink confiscated because of driving at 5am. Up at quarter to four, but also up before that at 10pm because of phone maybe strange noises. In good time at airport. EasyJet speedy boarding was worth having to get extra baggage and speedy bag check in with no queues. We had one bag to check with toiletries etc, then one overhead locker bag (the Eastpak wheely ones I have been stockpiling) and little under seat hand luggage too (the recent pacsafe bags) each. 40 mins late leaving. A canned margarita for sustenance. No idea what we're doing when we get to Budapest. Bus probably to near our accomodation as we can't get in until 3pm local time. So maybe a bar on the way where I can send my first picture to friends. I haven't mentioned the trip recently so I hope it will be a nice humblebrag type surprise for them that I am in an exotic holiday. After that they'll remember the eurotour train plans and be expecting more updates. We do have vague plans for the next couple of days, got a Segway tour booked and then hopefully and outdoor thermal spa but will see. It's all quite whistlestop.
It's nice to have some contemporary notes to aid the memory as I'm writing this up two weeks later. Don't know what the phone noises were, but annoying. Sounded like an alarm, we each blamed the others phone. So we must have gone to bed about 9pm. Yes we were heading first to Budapest, Hungary on our big holiday of 2025. Flying there, but then trains and buses everywhere.
Here is the margarita I had on the plane, it was not a pizza:
